EDINBURG, Texas - Hundreds of students at the Edinburg campus participated in the second annual Engaged Scholar Symposium.
During Wednesday's event, students were able to present their undergrad research, service learning projects, and creative works.
The associate dean for student academics at UTRGV, Amy Weimer, says the purpose of the symposium is for students to showcase their work, and engage the university with the community.
"A lot of the projects involve community outreach, so we invite them as part of this event. And then our students are able to provide services to them. So there's a lot of opportunities that our students have to improve the community, and the community can also offer that knowledge to our students. It's a two-way street," said Weimer.
Art students will also be showcasing some of their innovative researche and service learning projects at International Museum of Art and Science.
