Tar Spill on South Padre Island Follow Up

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas -

Several dozen large trucks loaded with tar have left South Padre Island. The tar swept up on the beach earlier this week.

We're told it was most likely left over from a natural seep or oil spill years ago. The shoreline crew finished cleaning up the affected area Tuesday afternoon. The Texas General Land Office supervised the loading of the tar and sent it away for disposal.
