Rip Current Warning Issued For Coastal Region Of Rio Grande Valley

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas - It could be a dangerous time to go into the waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

There is a rip current warning for our area, including coastal Cameron and Willacy Counties. The swells stem from fallout from Hurricane Irma.

The warning is not keeping people from going in the water, but first responders discourage the action. The advisory is in effect through Wednesday night.
