Police Deliver Valentine's Day Bears to Students With Special Needs

BROWNSVILLE, Texas - A local school district and police officers wanted to make sure that everyone felt loved on Valentine’s Day, especially students with special needs.

And while love is in the air, they surprised the students with special gifts.

“We’re just happy to help out and having parent volunteers make a little outfits for the bears, it’s the way of our department and our officers to show that they care and that their first and most priority is our children our students of our district,” said Rosalva Larrasquitu Coordinator for Parental Involvement.

Brownsville Independent School District police department and parent volunteers want to bring comfort to young students with special needs so they can know they can count on and trust police.

The bears wear little outfits made from retired police officer uniforms.
