Missing Person Investigation Sends Family to Downtown Area Bars

BROWNSVILLE, Texas - “I told my mom yesterday [Wednesday] that when he [Kimberly] comes home and not hurt, I'm going to hurt him [Kimberly.]” Said Noe Avila with an optimistic laugh.

His older sibling, Ramio Avila, known in the community as Kimberley has been missing since Friday, May 12th.

Noe laughs while imagining his sibling coming home and giving him tough love…but the reality of the disappearance is deeply painful, “But all joking aside, it’s biggest welcome back but it's tormenting us and we want him [Kimberly] back you know.”

Avila was last seen in the downtown Brownsville bar area wearing a black dress and black wig.

“We are fighting, fighting the pain… but we need to hang in there and never lose the faith and hope. In situations like this this, you need the most faith and never lose it.”

Anyone with information on Ramiro Alvia/Kimberley Avila is asked to contact Brownsville Police Dept (956) 548-7000 or Brownsville Crime Stoppers at (956) 546-8477.

The Avila family uses the pronouns ‘he/him’ to address Kimberly however, friends and those close to her use pronouns ‘she/her.’ The misuse of addressing nongender conforming individuals with inaccurate pronouns is common in the LGBTQ community. News Center sought LGBTQ organizations input to appropriately identify Kimberly for this report and future reports.
