Local Non-Profit To Build Home For Low Income Family

MCALLEN, Texas - Thanks to a local non-profit organization, one family will soon have a new home.

Habitat for Humanity and Wells Fargo are teaming up to help a mother and her three children. This morning the organization broke ground for what will be a new home. The family was chosen out of over 100 applicants of low income that needed a new home.

Wayne Lowry, Executive Director – Habitat for Humanity of the Rio Grande Valley said, "We have a very thorough screening process, and we're very proud of the partnered families that we work with. Wells Fargo has contributed $20,000 from their foundation to this project, and we'll contribute over 300 hours of volunteered labor to help make this home a reality."

The new home is expected to be completed in two to three months.
