Governor Abbott Proclaims November 3rd Houston Astros Day In Texas

AUSTIN, Texas - Governor Greg Abbott today issued a proclamation declaring November 3, 2017, Houston Astros Day. In his proclamation, Governor Abbott extended his congratulations to the entire Astros organization and reflected on the significance of this championship not only for the city of Houston, which is still recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Harvey, but for Texans across the state.

“Earn History was truly a fitting motto to follow this season, as this team displayed tremendous character and grit, fighting through adversity to bring home the franchise’s first World Series title," said Governor Abbott. “Like the Astros, Texans are known for their spirit and resolve, and in the wake of Harvey’s devastation, we were able to see the persevering nature of Texans on full display. This victory is a great honor for the Astros, and will serve as inspiration to a city and state that is passionate about its sports.”
