Family in Penitas Homeless after Fire Destroys Home

PENITAS, Texas - A family is left homeless in Peñitas after a fire destroys their home. On February 5 firefighters from five different cities battled the fire. At one point the emergency responders had to take cover in their vehicles.

The owner had guns in the house and bullets were firing, with the intense heat. Firefighters say the flames reached a height of 15 feet and were threatening other homes in the neighborhood. The blaze is believed to be an accident, but the investigation continues.
