CAMERON COUNTY, TX - Cameron County Officials declared June 16 as 'Blue Tie Day'.
This comes as an effort to raise public awareness about men’s health.
County leaders are asking both men and women to wear a blue tie in support of this cause.
They plan to encourage men to consider ‘at least’ an annual checkup.
Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino Says, "men have those tendencies to ignore the warning signs weather they are small or large because we are told to tough it out, not to show any sign of weakness. Getting sick is not a sign of weakness.”
Observance for men’s health will continue tomorrow morning with the first Men’s Health Awareness Health fair.
The fair will take place Saturday morning, June 17 at Bass Pro Shops in Harlingen.
