Abortion Clinic Hopes to Remain Open

MCALLEN, TX - Whole Woman's Health Clinic in McAllen is the only clinic in the Rio Grande Valley that performs abortion services.

The HB2 regulation has forced the clinic to close a number of times in recent years, but clinic officials are hoping the Supreme Court rules in their favor to keep their doors open.

"There's also been a lot of anti-choice protests going on outside the clinic that usually try to intercede with how we offer services by preventing women to access those services," said Whole Woman's Health Clinic Spokesperson, Andrea Farrigno.

She continued to say TRAP regulations like HB2 endanger women's health and creates an unnecessary public health crisis.

However, pro-life advocates disagree and say women have better alternatives.

"I try and convince young women to go to the Mcallen Pregnancy Center, where they offer the same services except abortion," said Evangelical Christian Rene Lizcano.

A ruling is expected to be announced this summer by the Supreme Court.
