A Step Closer To Honoring A Fallen Border Patrol Agent

WASHINGTON - A border checkpoint is one step closer to being renamed after a fallen border patrol agent.

On Tuesday, October 10, the U.S. House of Representatives passed legislation to rename the Sarita Checkpoint in Kingsville after the late Border Patrol Agent Javier Vega Jr.

Agent Vega was shot and killed by two criminals who were in the country illegally. It occurred while on a family fishing trip in Raymondville in August 2015.
